Motor Torque Calculator

TOOLS 01—04

Calculate motor shaft torque in N·m or lb·ft from power and RPM.

YOUR RESULT
Formula & how it works
These tools provide basic calculations under ideal conditions. Check manufacturer specifications and losses when applying results.

How to use

Korea uses kW and N·m; United States uses mechanical hp and lb·ft. Enter shaft power and RPM.

Worked example

2 hp at 1,500 RPM → about 7.0028 lb·ft. Metric example: 1.5 kW at 1,500 RPM → about 9.5493 N·m.

Application notes

Use mechanical shaft power rather than electrical input power. Starting torque, peak torque and gearbox losses require separate consideration.
